Kimberley company awarded grant to grow business
Aboriginal‑owned Broome business Kimberley Manufacturing Pty Ltd has received a $50,000 Regional Economic Development grant to develop a modular product catalogue.
Six Kimberley projects received $558,000 in funding through Round 8 of the Regional Economic Development (RED) Grants Program, supporting business resilience and creating new economic opportunities across the region.
The funding will support the development of a modular product catalogue, allowing customers to modify, visualise and price modular constructions before purchase, and thereby aiding the growing housing construction industry in the region.
The program backs initiatives that create jobs, boost productivity, build capability, diversify industry, and attract new investment – delivering long‑term economic and community benefits across the region.
Mulan Aboriginal Corporation has been awarded $66,000 to develop a business plan for staged cultural centre and tourism developments at Mulan and Paruku, creating new community‑led economic opportunities aligned with the Tanami Highway upgrade.
“These grants highlight the strength, diversity and innovation of projects being driven by Kimberley communities and businesses to create genuine local opportunities,” Kimberley MLA Divina D’Anna said.
“It’s encouraging to see investment flowing into health, housing, agriculture, the arts and skills development, delivering practical outcomes that support jobs, economic resilience and community wellbeing across the region.”
