Cookie company expands native food supply chain

April 9, 2026

Cooee Native Superfoods has expanded its South Australian retail presence, with Cooee Cookies now available across Drakes Supermarkets stores statewide.

The partnership with Drakes, Australia’s largest independent grocery retailer, marks a significant milestone in Cooee’s continued growth following its acquisition of Adelaide-based Creative Native Foods.

It further strengthens the brand’s connection to South Australia, where key native ingredients are sourced, processed and now sold through one of the state’s most recognisable supermarket networks.

Cooee’s 160-gram family packs, including Nan’s Jam Drops with Davidson Plum, Choc-Chip and Wattle seed varieties, will be available across Drakes stores throughout South Australia.

Drakes Supermarkets’ Grocery Category Manager, Jacky Webster, said the partnership reflected Drakes’ long-standing commitment to supporting independent brands and South Australian producers.

“As a family-owned business, Drakes has always backed suppliers who offer something distinctive and locally connected,” Ms Webster said.

“Cooee is an Indigenous-owned brand with strong South Australian supply links and a genuine focus on community impact. We are pleased to bring Cooee Cookies to our customers and support a business that shares our values.”

Terri-Ann “Tezzi” Daniel, founder and CEO of Cooee Native Superfoods, said the company’s growth strategy was focused on building an authentic, scalable native food supply chain.

Growing footprint

“We want retail expansion to mean something. It is about creating commercial success that flows back to the community, to growers and to regional South Australia. Partnerships like this allow us to do that,” she said.

The Drakes expansion adds to Cooee’s growing national footprint, with products already stocked in Woolworths Metro, Ampol Foodary and selected IGA stores, and served onboard Qantas flights.

With South Australia now a critical hub for both supply and retail distribution, the partnership reinforces Cooee’s position as a fast-growing Indigenous-owned brand bringing native Australian ingredients into mainstream supermarkets while supporting local jobs and regional producers.
