Better access to early childhood education

September 24, 2025

The One Tree Wunan Garndim-banjelng Badang Yarrawoo has officially opened in Kunnurra, Western Australia, to improve access to Early Childhood education.

The program was established through the support of local families to improve access to education and funded through the Community Child Care Fund Restricted (CCCFR) expansion program under Closing the Gap reforms.

Community partnership

Supported by SNAICC’s Community Partner team, along with the WA EYS team, One Tree Wunan Garndim-banjelng Badang Yarrawoo is a joint initiative between One Tree Community Services and the Wunan Foundation.

The team also paid a visit to Binarri-binyja yarrawoo, who became the 50th Connected Beginnings site late last year.

In collaboration with Wunan and One Tree, Binarri-binyja yarrawoo has been supporting families in the Kununurra community to access the new centre, playing a pivotal role in community engagement and overcoming barriers to participation in early education.
