Fogarty ‘so proud’ to represent his people at Allstars game

Indigenous league star Jamal Fogarty has spoken on the Manly Sea Eagles website about his pride after being called up for the Indigenous All Stars squad to face the Maori All Stars this weekend.

Fogarty, who has moved from Canberra Raiders to Manly in the off-season, first played for the All Stars in 2021.

“As a proud Indigenous man, I’m super excited to be back in that arena representing my culture and my family,” he said.

Fogarty, from Beaudesert in south west Queensland, said he was veery proud to represent the Mununjali people.

“I just want to play well, do myself and my family proud, but also the club here at Manly as well,” he said.

The Indigenous All Stars play the Māori All Stars at FMG Stadium Waikato, Hamilton on Sunday 15th February.

The Indigenous Women’s All Stars game will feature Titans star Jaime Chapman and Dragons playmaker Taliah Fuimaono against a Māori Women’s outfit boasting Warriors recruit Gayle Broughton and Eels powerhouse Kennedy Cherrington.

The event will also include a clash between the Indigenous and Māori Touch Football teams.
