
Applications open for regional female leaders program
Applications are open for HORIZON’s fully funded leadership and entrepreneurship program (valued at $8,500) designed for Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and South Sea Islander women in regional Australia.
The program, on September 18-19, includes a two-day intensive in Karratha with facilitators and guest speakers, ongoing online workshops and coaching, skills and networking.
The HORIZON Program is delivered by First Nations X, Atomic Sky & Project Play Up – Leadership for Women, and made possible by support from the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation’s New Industries Fund X-tend grant, Local Buying Foundation, Gold Fields and the Mt Burdett Foundation, as well as the following companies.

Who is it for?
Aimed predominantly at Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Australia’s South Sea Islander women living and working in regional Australia and women working in regional areas in not-for-profits, on new business ideas, career development ambitions and startups will benefit.

What does it involve?
Over several months, participants will take part in virtual sessions online with Indigenous leaders, experts and coaches from areas including:
- Leadership development
- Communication skills
- Personal branding
- Entrepreneurial thinking
- Implementing innovation
- Raising money to fund your ideas
Each cohort is limited in size to facilitate valuable two-way learning between trainers and participants. Your knowledge and experience is as powerful as the expert content when shared in this forum.
