SBS condemns logo use on mock video

June 5, 2026

SBS has issued a statement regarding unauthorised use of SBS logos on third party social content after a comedian posting a video in a mock Insight interview as “Aunty Lisa” which has drawn fierce online criticism including from Indigenous Australians.

“SBS has become aware of social media posts in circulation featuring the unauthorised use of SBS branding and logos,” the statement read.

“The posts promote views that are entirely inconsistent with SBS’s values and editorial standards and are not produced, endorsed or authorised by SBS.

“SBS unequivocally condemns all forms of racism and recognises the damaging impact it has on individuals, communities and social cohesion. Such views have no place in Australian society.”

SBS said it was committed to telling the stories of Australia’s diverse communities, exposing the harms and impacts of racism, and amplifying the voices, experiences and perspectives of First Nations peoples and multicultural communities across the country.
