More funding to hep small business growth

August 4, 2025

The WA State Government plans to back small businesses to boost their capability and grow their business through a new funding program.

The Small Business Growth Grants deliver on a 2025 election commitment by the Government.

And it could assist many First Nations businesses.

The program will provide matched funding vouchers of up to $10,000 to help eligible businesses access expert advice and specialist services to unlock new opportunities, diversify or scale-up with confidence.

“With more than 40 years of experience delivering practical and trusted small business support across Western Australia, the SBDC is proud to deliver this new funding support,” Small Business Commissioner Saj Abdoolakhan said.

“By matching business investments in capacity building and specialist support, we’re helping WA small businesses to think big.”

Vouchers will support businesses with business planning, digital marketing and e-commerce, financial health checks, cybersecurity, tender responses, export readiness and market positioning.

The program will encourage applicants to use their voucher to access services from other WA small businesses, delivering further benefits for WA’s small business sector and the WA economy.

Small businesses are a significant contributor to the Western Australia economy, contributing more than $50 billion of economic activity to the State each year.

The Small Business Growth Grants will be delivered by the Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC), which provides a range of practical small business assistance across WA on behalf of the State Government.

Applications for the Small Business Growth Grants will open on Monday, August 4, at 10am. For more information, visit www.smallbusiness.wa.gov.au.
