
Leadership initiative delivered in Goldfields-Esperance
A WA Government initiative to strengthen Aboriginal leadership and support sustainable business growth has been successfully delivered in the Goldfields-Esperance region.
Participants graduated from the Aboriginal Business Leadership Initiative, a program designed to build personal leadership capability while fostering business development skills.

Western Australian Aboriginal-owned and operated consultancy Kaala Barna delivers program.
The program in the Goldfields-Esperance region was delivered by Aboriginal-owned and operated consultancy Kaala Barna, in partnership with the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission.
The initiative provides comprehensive development and support to strengthen leadership, capability, operational confidence, and resilience for long-term success.
Culturally safe, structured training
Aboriginal Affairs Minister Don Punch said the initiative was successfully building Aboriginal business leaders’ skills, knowledge and networks through culturally safe, structured training and tailored support in the Goldfields‑Esperance region.
“Graduates of the Aboriginal Business Leadership Initiative are strengthening their leadership, confidence and resilience through mentoring and personalised support designed for Aboriginal‑led businesses and organisations.,” he said.
The successful program has been delivered to 91 participants since 2017 across regional WA.
