Position Overview:

We are seeking a self-motivated Intermediate Accountant to join our office. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and knowledge of MYOB, Xero, BGL, and other accounting software. This role offers support, mentoring, and opportunities for further career progression and training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships.
• Prepare BAS, IAS, and annual GST returns.
• Reconcile bank accounts, wages, and GST.
• Liaise with staff, clients, and the ATO to ensure compliance and effective communication.
• Provide assistance and guidance to clients regarding STP, bookkeeping systems, and software implementation.
• Work directly with the partner on complex and challenging business and taxation matters, ensuring no two days are the same.
• Draft professional letters and correspondence, demonstrating strong written English skills.

Qualifications:

• Permanent Residency in Australia.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Public Practice in Australia.
• CA or CPA qualification.
• Comfortable in a client-facing role.
• Willingness to meet deadlines as required.
• Effective communication skills and good attention to detail.
• Strong written English skills.
• Quick learner and self-motivated.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks.
• Experience with MS Office, QB, Xero, MYOB, BGL, FYI, and/or Reckon software is advantageous.
