Jayce revved up for World Motocross Championships

June 10, 2026

It will be the ride of a lifetime for young Jayce Stocker next month when the Indigenous motocross rider competes in the 2026 Junior Motocross World Championship in the Czech Republic.

Jayce, just 14, from Perth, is regarded as one of Australia’s best MX talents.

But to get there he is looking for some sponsorship help as the trip will cost in the region of $15,000.

And mum Shay has been busy drumming up support for her son as he prepares for the championships last special training camp in Queensland.

The impressive Team Australia line-up for the event from July 3-5 includes two riders with past WJMX experience, Seth Thomas and Blake Bohannon, alongside four newcomers to the pinnacle of junior world motocross competition, Ryder Madafiglio, Hudson Francis, Cooper Ford and Jayce.

Bohannon and Stocker will compete in the 85cc category, while Madafiglio from NSW, and Francis from Queensland will be in 65cc category.

Thomas (NSW) and Ford (Tasmania) will be in the 125cc event.

The Team Australia riders have also cut their teeth in the KTM Australian Junior Motocross Championship – the biggest standalone junior event in the country – over recent years, featuring prominently with victories and podiums.

“I am excited about the opportunity to take the team to Jinin this year. The track is clay-based and undulating, so it should be a great race track and provide some great racing for the boys,” Ross Beaton, WJMX Team Manager said.

And Peter Doyle, CEO of Motorcycling Australia said he was delighted with the line-up of talented young riders who will represent Motorcycling Australia on the world stage.

“In line with the continued growth of motocross racing in Australia, MA is proud to continue supporting juniors on the world stage and l’m looking forward to seeing how this year’s team performs against the world’s best,” he said.

For Jayce Stocker it’s a fantastic achievement and a testament to his hard work and dedication to the sport.
