First Nations News Proud to Support NAIDOC Perth Awards 2026
First Nations News is proud to be a sponsor of the 2026 NAIDOC Perth Awards, taking place tomorrow evening at The Ritz-Carlton Perth, celebrating the outstanding achievements, leadership and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Western Australia.
The event forms part of this year’s NAIDOC celebrations and aligns with the national theme, “50 Years of Deadly”, recognising five decades of strength, resilience, achievement and leadership.
As sponsor of the Sportsperson Award, First Nations News is honoured to support the recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander athletes who continue to inspire their communities through excellence both on and off the field. The sponsorship includes the opportunity to present the award on stage during the ceremony.
Representing First Nations News on the night will be Director Peter Harris, who will present the Sportsperson Award and join community leaders, Elders, businesses, organisations and supporters in celebrating some of the state’s most inspiring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander achievements.
“Events like the NAIDOC Perth Awards are incredibly important because they shine a light on the people making a real difference in our communities,” Mr Harris said.
“Whether it’s through sport, culture, leadership, education or community service, these award recipients remind us of the strength, talent and resilience that exists right across our communities.”
The NAIDOC Perth Awards continue to serve as one of Western Australia’s premier celebrations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander excellence, bringing together community, business and government to acknowledge outstanding contributions and achievements.
First Nations News congratulates all finalists and nominees and looks forward to celebrating alongside the wider community tomorrow evening.
Honouring culture. Celebrating achievement. Inspiring futures.
