Eagles forward charged by WA police, AFL club confirms

West Coast Indigenous forward Tyler Brockman has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm, the AFL club confirmed.

The Eagles released a brief statement on Friday, confirming Brockman had been charged by WA Police following an incident near Geraldton on December 28.

Police will allege in court that Brockman struck a man in his late teens at about 3.50am in Drummond Cove – almost 430km north of Perth.

The victim sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

Brockman is due to appear before the Geraldton Magistrates Court on February 19.

The 23-year-old has returned to training following the off-season incident, with The West Australian reporting he was on the field on Friday.

Drafted to Hawthorn in 2021 before returning home to WA in 2024, Brockman has played 30 games for the Eagles.

He kicked 14 goals across 20 games last year, after a syndesmosis issue ended his 2024 campaign early.
