Division as health board forced to re-run elections
An Aboriginal community-controlled organisation in Victoria will re-run its board election after questions were raised over the previous board election process in November.
One former member of the Mallee District Aboriginal Services questioned whether the organisation had adhered to the Corporations Act at its meeting late last year relating to the nomination procedure.
Some reports suggested the meeting had been disrupted during the election process.

The MDAS has now said the meeting was invalid and that the former board is still the governing group body.
MDAS says it will now reconvene the meeting and re-run the elections on February 14.
MDAS is one of 34 Aboriginal community-controlled health organisations across Victoria tasked with providing health and social services to First Nations people. It is based in Mildura.
The Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO) has confirmed it will be at the AGM next month.
It is believed there have been a number of rifts over board roles and the management of the organisation.
