Community initiatives funded through Men’s Places Grants
Aboriginal organisations are among 17 projects backed by the Northern Territory Government through the 2025 Men’s Places Grants Program.
Minister for Youth, Seniors and Equality Jinson Charls has announced $152,950 in funding for local initiatives that strengthen men’s health, wellbeing, leadership and social connection right across the Territory.
“We’re backing grassroots initiatives that are culturally safe, community-led and focused on building stronger futures for men and boys,” Mr Charls said.
“These grants are about supporting Territory men to heal and connect – in their families, workplaces and communities.”

The program attracted strong interest this year, with 29 applications, and in recognition of the demand and high-quality proposals, the Finocchiaro CLP Government boosted the original $100,000 pool to $152,950.
“The demand for this program shows just how many local organisations are ready to step up and support men’s wellbeing across the Territory,” Mr Charls added.
Health and wellbeing
Among this year’s recipients, Alice Springs-based Birth and Beyond received $10,000 to deliver Becoming Dad, a peer-support and education program for new fathers.
The first session of the program was held this week with Relationships Australia NT Group Facilitator, Rob Stoll saying the first night was a success with many dads attending.
“The program is for both new and expecting fathers or men who have taken on a parenting role and is the opportunity to connect with each out around what it means to be an active and positive dad,” Mr Stoll said.
The Men’s Places Grants Program supports projects aligned with the NT Men’s Places Policy and Program, focusing on five priority areas: community engagement; health and wellbeing; safety; economic security; and leadership and participation.
