Bourchier to lead NITV coverage

Former ABC journalist Dan Bourchier has been appointed the new general manager at NITV, the nation’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait broadcaster.

Mr Bourchier, whoosh worked in media for over 25 years, takes over the role vacated earlier this year by Tanya Denning-Orman.

“This feels like coming home,” Mr Bourchier, who first worked at the station 15 years ago, said.

“NITV gave me my start in television back in 2010 as a political reporter, and returning now as General Manager is a privilege.”

Ms Denning-Orman, now SBS Director First Nations, said a brought a wealth of media experience, strong cultural knowledge and a passion for championing First Nations voices to the role.

Mr Bourchier began his career on the Tennant and District Times, before working at NT News, NITV and Sky. In 2017 he moved to the ABC, working on the Drum program and leading the station’s coverage of the Voice referendum.
