Based in Boorloo (Perth), First Nations News is an Indigenous-led media platform created to amplify truth, culture, and community voices. Our purpose is to ensure First Nations perspectives lead the national conversation with authenticity and respect.
With the backing of national partners and a collaborative team of Indigenous and non-Indigenous journalists, creatives, and technologists, First Nations News delivers original reporting, incisive commentary, and perspectives often ignored by mainstream media.
Jeremy Wolf – Founding Director
Jeremy Wolf is a Palawa man with connections to Plangermaireener Country in north eastern Tasmania, with acknowledged Aboriginal ancestry, cultural and community ties to the Melukerdee Mob.
As Founding Director of First Nations News, Jeremy leads with a vision to create an international media platform grounded in integrity, authenticity and cultural respect. With a background in accounting, business law and strategy, he combines commercial capability with a strong cultural perspective to build sustainable pathways for Indigenous storytelling in the digital age.
Over his 15-year career across professional services, digital consulting and enterprise leadership, Jeremy has driven initiatives that elevate Indigenous-led innovation, governance and inclusion. His approach blends business strategy with cultural understanding to ensure FNN operates as both a trusted news source and a catalyst for social and economic empowerment.
Jeremy’s focus is on building platforms where culture and commerce can thrive together, ensuring First Nations voices are represented, respected and heard across the global media landscape.

Peter Harris – Director
Peter Harris is an Aboriginal man with connections across the east and west coasts of Australia. His heritage includes the St George region of South West Queensland and Kamilaroi Country through his mother, and South West Boojarah, Widi Mob, Southern Yamatji and Njamal Country through his father.
As a Director of First Nations News, Peter brings deep leadership experience and a culturally grounded approach to media governance and community engagement. With a career spanning executive roles including CEO, Deputy CEO and COO within several Aboriginal corporations and associations, he has led the design and delivery of programs guided by the principles of Community, Culture and Country.
Peter’s strength lies in connecting strategy with purpose. His experience in building Aboriginal advancement frameworks and strengthening governance informs FNN’s commitment to reporting with cultural integrity and authenticity.
Through his leadership, Peter helps ensure that First Nations News continues to represent community perspectives, amplify Indigenous voices and uphold cultural values across all forms of storytelling both in Australia and internationally.

Adam Fitzgerald – Technical Director
As Technical Director, Adam Fitzgerald plays a pivotal role in shaping the digital evolution of First Nations News. With extensive experience in software architecture, digital strategy and platform development, Adam combines technical excellence with creative vision to ensure First Nations stories are delivered with authenticity, reach and impact.
Adam’s work sits at the intersection of technology and storytelling. He oversees the development and integration of FNN’s digital platforms, from content systems and media workflows to audience engagement tools, ensuring the organisation remains at the forefront of modern news delivery. His leadership ensures that technology enhances, not replaces, the human voice at the heart of every story.
With a strong background in digital innovation, Adam has led teams across media, enterprise and creative industries, building systems that balance performance, accessibility and design integrity. His technical foresight and collaborative approach are instrumental in expanding FNN’s capacity to share stories across web, broadcast and emerging digital channels.
Beyond the code, Adam is a problem-solver, mentor and creative thinker who champions technology as a vehicle for connection, truth-telling and cultural respect in Australian media.

Peter Rowe – Editor
Peter Rowe leads First Nations News as Editor, with over three decades of experience across international newsrooms, digital platforms and media strategy roles. For the past 20 years, he’s worked in Australia – reporting, editing and advising on stories that shape public debate.
He has edited daily and weekly publications, authored books, and worked behind the scenes in media relations for some of the country’s most recognisable organisations. But it’s this new chapter – helping build a platform led by and for First Nations people – that drives him most.
Peter is based in Western Australia and is focused on growing a newsroom rooted in cultural respect, investigative rigour and fearless storytelling. His goal is to support and mentor emerging Indigenous journalists ready to report with truth, strength and purpose.

Topaz McAuliffe – Contributor
Topaz McAuliffe is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of 15 Times Better, a First Nations-owned and led business that helps organisations accelerate their First Nations impact. Topaz is one of Australia’s most successful First Nations engagement specialists. She was the driving force behind Coles Group’s award-winning First Nations engagement program, assisting Coles to become Australia’s largest corporate sector employer of First Nations peoples and one of the country’s leading supporters of First Nations businesses, gaining recognition from Fortune, the Australian Human Rights Commission and the UN Global Compact Australia.

Tekan Cochrane – Contributor
Tekan is a proud Kooma and Yuwaalaraay woman with Torres Strait Islander heritage and a respected Indigenous lawyer and advocate. She brings extensive experience in justice policy, systemic reform and community leadership, having worked across legal practice, government policy and law reform initiatives. Tekan is the Executive Officer of the Tarwirri Indigenous Law Association of Victoria, where she champions culturally safe legal systems and greater representation for First Nations people in law and policy.
She is also a mentor, academic and active contributor to legal advisory committees, with a strong focus on truth-telling, advocacy and equitable outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. In 2025 Tekan was recognised as a finalist in the Australian Human Rights Commission’s Law Award, reflecting her contribution to advancing human rights and justice.

Harrison Stewart – Contributor
Harry Stewart is a proud Walbunja man with over half a decade of experience in financial services, specialising in strategy, product development, and growth. He is currently studying a Juris Doctor at UNSW and holds an MBA specialising in Technology Management.
Harry serves on the board of the Indigenous Reading Project and hosts Capital and Country, a podcast and newsletter exploring law, policy, and business from an Indigenous perspective. Passionate about storytelling and structural change, he brings a unique lens to every piece he writes.
