Recognition and Profile

The award acknowledges Origin Digital Consultants’ work across secure, Microsoft-centred environments and cloud-based transformation, alongside its commitment to Indigenous participation in technology.

The consultancy specialises in bespoke software design, website services, information governance and cyber-enabled digital transformation, with core services spanning Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Platform and cloud solutions.

Its team designs and delivers secure platforms, including custom Power Apps, workflow automation and governance-aligned collaboration environments aimed at reducing cyber risk, improving compliance and strengthening organisational resilience.

“This is an amazing achievement and we are so thankful and proud. We are a small Indigenous business in Perth and it’s great to get national recognition.”

— Jeremy Wolf, Founding Director, Origin Digital Consultants

What began with a focus on website design has evolved into end-to-end digital transformation, including Microsoft-specific deployments, Power Platform builds and Power Apps development. Origin Digital sits within the broader Origin Mob, where Business Consultants contribute a full understanding of business lifecycles, enabling a wrap-around approach to digital services.

Origin Digital maintains industry partnerships that align advanced threat detection, cyber monitoring and security tooling with practical delivery.

The consultancy cites close ties with sovereign cyber security providers and partnerships AWS (as partner and reseller) and IBM (as an IBM Silver Partner).

The company delivers services nationally through direct consulting and delivery, supporting clients across metropolitan, regional and remote Australia. Panel appointments with BuyICT, WALGA and CUAICT enable approved delivery across Commonwealth, state, territory and local government.

Community Impact

In August 2025, Origin Digital’s leaders founded First Nations News (FNN), an Indigenous-led, national online media platform focused on original journalism, opinion, cultural commentary and community stories.

FNN centres First Nations perspectives, amplifying positive stories and authentic voices rather than the ‘rage bait’ framing often seen in mainstream coverage.

While FNN operates as a separate business, it was founded by Jeremy Wolf and Technical Director Adam Fitzgerald, and Origin Digital’s team describes it as a natural extension of their broader mission.

Since launch, FNN has grown entirely through organic reach, accumulating over 210,000 Google Search impressions and ranking in the top five results nationally for multiple Indigenous news keywords.

Partnership with Curtin University

Origin Digital has also advanced its workforce pipeline initiatives, entering the second year of a four-year partnership scholarship with Curtin University in Western Australia.

The scholarship awards $10,000 per year to an Indigenous student studying within a digital discipline, reflecting a commitment to sustained, long-term investment in Indigenous technology professionals.

Beyond headline initiatives, the consultancy has maintained community engagement by providing pro bono digital services for NAIDOC Perth events; prioritising support to fellow Supply Nation Certified businesses; partnering in design with an Indigenous female-led consultancy known for same-day turnaround; and regularly assisting not-for-profits with hosting and technical challenges.

“Greater Indigenous participation in the cyber industry is not just about producing cyber specialists. It is about building digital confidence, capability and inclusion, so Indigenous Australians can participate in, benefit from and lead within an increasingly digital and cyber- focused economy.”

— Jeremy Wolf

Award Criteria and Submission

The Australian Cyber Awards, hosted by Cyber Daily, recognise excellence across Australia’s cyber industry. The Indigenous Cyber Business of the Year category celebrates the Indigenous cyber business that has most effectively capitalised on market opportunities and driven demonstrable business growth while supporting the strengthening of Australia’s cyber and national security capabilities.

The category included all Indigenous cyber businesses, regardless of specialisation, operating across domains such as land, aerospace, naval, space, medical, packaging, textiles or clothing, engineering services, systems engineering and integration, C4ISR, multi-domain, logistics and warehousing, professional services and administration, sales, marketing and communications, facilities services and construction, hospitality, consumables, and all other cyber-related disciplines.

All Indigenous cyber businesses are encouraged to participate, irrespective of size, revenue or geographic locations.

As part of the process, Origin Digital submitted responses to Cyber Daily outlining product and service offerings, distribution, customers, pricing and customer service; the major success or milestone over the assessment period and leadership contributions.

Support for increased employment and upskilling for Indigenous Australians in the cyber industry was also a major factor.
