About A Place for Culture
A Place for Culture is a fully funded, free professional learning and development opportunity for educators (Early Childhood Educators) and leaders (Centre Directors, Educational Leaders, Room Leaders, Nominated Supervisors) in non‑Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander services.
The program focuses on strengthening culturally responsive and inclusive practice in early learning settings and supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children to strengthen cultural identity within the ECEC service.
The delivery model is blended. Participants complete a self‑paced online learning component prior to the in‑person workshop. Upon completion of the program, participants receive a certificate of participation.
Completing the online module before arriving on the day is a condition of participation. SNAICC states that attendance for the full in-person session is mandatory to meet program requirements and to receive recognition of participation.
Participation requirements and costs
While the workshop is free, participants are responsible for any travel or personal expenses. SNAICC notes that places are limited and encourages prospective participants to enrol promptly, share the opportunity with colleagues, and ensure the online learning is completed before the in-person date. Participants must attend the entire in‑person workshop to complete the program.
