My Christmas … with Marlu Group

As Christmas approaches First Nations News has reached out to its readers to ask how they celebrate.

Today we talk to Shaun Quinlan, the Operations Manager of Marlu Group, in Perth.

How and where and with whom do you celebrate?

We have an internal Christmas Day a with our leadership team, this year we chose Ascot races on December 6.

Do you put up a tree and decorate your house?

We have a tree at the front door for Marlu and at home in the lounge.

Presents .. what do you buy and what was the best present you have received?

For Marlu we have a secret Santa with $50.00 limit, we are opening presents actually this week.

With family at home, or visiting or just wth a partner or friend?

We do all of the above.

Does your work, or has it, ever stopped a celebration? 

Never, Christmas is apart of our culture and for the kids

Do you take a few days off work off to blend in New Year as well.

Occasionally, however business can often overrule unfortunately.

Christmas away … if you have … what’s the best ‘Christmas holiday’ you have had?

In London then Vegas “Baby” 2023.

Christmas Eve … do you go to church or meet family friends for dinner etc?

Meet with family

Christmas Day…

Same, Family

If you have children, what’s the earliest you have been woken up?

My daughter is 14 months now, define early haha!

Christmas dinner – or lunch? At home, on the barbie?

Barbie, anywhere.

Do you head out to the beach in the morning or a park?

We head for the beach.

Ham, seafood, turkey, veggie option? What’s your favourite and why?

We go for  Pavlova after crayfish.

Christmas drinks tipples – your favourites.

Cold Coronas… and plenty of them

And… NY Eve. How do you celebrate bringing in the new year?

Generally overseas, however this year will be a nice day to celebrate as a little family with the partner and daughter.
