Partnerships program a boost for regional communities

October 16, 2025

Horizon Power’s Community Partnerships Program has nearly $545,000 in funding in the latest round of the program, to support community organisations and events in regional and remote Western Australia.

The Cook Government, through Horizon Power’s Community Partnerships Program, provides $1.1 million each financial year to initiatives and events supporting health and wellbeing across the WA regional energy provider’s service area.

The latest round supports a range of local projects, including cultural festivals, sports development, environmental stewardship, mental health, support for family and domestic violence victims, Indigenous empowerment, and youth engagement.

  • Nearly $545,000 awarded through Horizon Power’s Community Partnerships Program
  • 60 community initiatives will benefit from partnerships of up to $50,000
  • Over 620 community organisations and initiatives have benefited from targeted support since 2020, making a positive difference in regional Western Australia

“Since 2020, the government, through Horizon Power’s Community Partnerships program, has proudly invested more than $5.5 million to assist in the delivery of more than 620 programs and events that make a real difference in regional WA,” Energy Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson said.

Supporting events across the State, the program is helping to drive more visitors to the regions, increasing economic activity in the local economies.

Successful recipients include St John Ambulance in the Mid West, Broome’s Athletics Club and Netball Association, Hedland Men’s Shed, Esperance Wildlife Sanctuary, Karratha’s North West Multicultural Festival, and Kununurra’s Ord Valley Muster.
