Spirit of Sound Educators’ national challenge
Hearing Australia has launched the new Spirit of Sound Educators’ Guide, a practical, play-based resource designed to support early learning services in promoting healthy hearing and strong communication skills.
This guide builds on the success of The Spirit of Sound storybook, created in partnership with Noongar artist Davinder Hart.
The story celebrates the importance of sound through cultural traditions and connections, inspiring children, families, and educators across Australia.
What’s in the Educators’ Guide?
- Insights into auditory development in early childhood
- Play-based learning activities inspired by the storybook
- Strategies to support sound-based learning for children of all ages and abilities
- Direct links to the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) V2.0

To celebrate the launch of the guide, Hearing Australia is running a national Spirit of Sound challenge for early education services until November.
