$1m grant aid to support children and families
The NSW Government is to invest nearly $1 million in a new grant program to sustainably grow Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) that provide support to children and families across NSW.
The Governance, Resilience, Opportunities and Workforce (GROW) grants are designed to bolster the capability of ACCOs, furthering the NSW Government’s commitment to Closing the Gap by backing a strong and sustainable Aboriginal community‑controlled sector.
Aligned with the Government’s historic investment in the ACCO community services sector, this grant round will support small and emerging organisations to build their capability. Grant funds can be used to boost an ACCO’s governance, workforce development, business strategy, financial sustainability and data capability.
The program will offer one‑off grants across two categories:
- Category 1: $3,000 to $15,000
- Category 2: $15,001 to $50,000
Applications for the GROW Grants Program are open until 19 March 2026. Successful applicants will be notified in May 2026.
Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Treaty David Harris said the program was another important way to enable Aboriginal organisations to provide care and support for the most vulnerable members of their communities.
“By investing directly in Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, we’re empowering communities to design and deliver the solutions that work for them. This program supports our broader Closing the Gap priorities by strengthening the foundations of Aboriginal-led services now and for future generations,” he said.
